Peter J. "Pistol Pete" Tacheny, 21, of Elk River, died while surrounded by his family and friends Monday, May 21, 2007, of muscular dystrophy.
He was the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Minnesota goodwill ambassador in 1994, a 2003 honors graduate of Elk River High School, accomplished artist, computer wiz and gaming fanatic.
Mass of Christian Burial was Thursday, May 24 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Zimmerman. Interment was private at St. Pius parish cemetery. Dare's Funeral Home of Elk River served the family. Memorials are preferred to Fairview Hospice.
He is survived by his parents, Thomas and Lynda; brother, John; sister, Allison; grandparents, Gerald and Bernice Tacheny; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Peter was preceded in death by his grandparents, Donald and Alice Horsmann; uncles, Ron and George Horsmann; and cousin, Brian Blatz.
