A fugitive from Hagerstown charged in a car accident that killed his pregnant girlfriend has been arrested at another girlfriend's home in Albany, N.Y.
The U.S. Marshals Service learned Tuesday that 21-year-old Javaughn Young could be hiding out at the woman's apartment. He was arrested about 11 a.m. and is being held at the Albany County jail.
Young was indicted last month by the Washington County grand jury on a charge of criminally negligent homicide, but court records show he failed to appear at a court hearing last week.
Charging documents said Young was fleeing from police June 9 when he struck a parked vehicle on South Main Street in Boonsboro. The crash killed 20-year-old passenger Kelsy Thomas. She was four months pregnant at the time.
