A 25-year-old motorist died early Sunday when he crashed a 2003 Dodge Viper into a concrete wall on Dean Martin Drive near the Las Vegas Beltway, police said.
The wreck happened about 1:15 a.m. just south of Capovilla Avenue, Las Vegas police said. Evidence indicated that the sports car was traveling at a high rate of speed and that the driver lost control on the road slick with rain, police said.
The driver, identified as Marc Dustin Choate of Lewisville, Texas, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. A passenger in the vehicle, 28-year-old Charles Murphy, was taken to the hospital and treated for moderate injuries, police said.
