A botched burglary at a Pasco car audio store ended with one of the suspects dead and a second chewed up by a police dog and in jail.

Pasco police said a 17-year-old Spokane boy Antwan King was killed just after midnight Monday when his car crashed into a light pole as he tried to get away from Pasco police officers who interrupted the burglary.

A second suspect, Kenyatta E. Bridges, 18, of Kennewick, was arrested after Officer Bob Harris and his K-9 Falco found him under a loading dock a short distance from the burglary, said Capt. Jim Raymond.

Police were called to S&D Car Audio, 610 W. Lewis St., at 12:05 a.m. after the business' alarm activated. As officers arrived, they saw two teens run off.

King jumped into a late model Lincoln Continental, and when officers tried to stop him in the alley just east of the business, he sped off down Lewis Street, Raymond said.

Officers saw the car speeding through the Lewis Street underpass, Raymond said, and King then lost control of the car at Lewis and Oregon streets. The Lincoln slid sideways through the intersection and crashed into a light pole, which crushed the driver's door. King died at the scene, Raymond said.

The police dog tracked the second suspect to the 200 block of South Sixth Street. Raymond said Bridges was bitten multiple times by Falco and later was treated for minor injuries before he was booked into the Franklin County jail on suspicion of commercial burglary.
