A 17-year-old Yorkville girl who may have been driving to school was killed when the minivan she was driving "aggressively" was broadsided by a sport-utility vehicle on a snowy road in Oswego Friday morning.

Brandy Miller, 17, who would have turned 18 this month, was driving a 1998 Dodge minivan northbound on Ill. Route 71 at Oak Creek Drive in Oswego at 6:26 a.m. when the crash occurred, according to Illinois State Police Joliet District Trooper Mark Dorencz. "Unfortunately, it [the accident] was the result of aggressive driving,'' Dorencz said.

Miller, who may have been driving to school, had just passed "several vehicles,'' on the left, using the oncoming, southbound lane of the two-lane highway and when she changed lanes to go back to the northbound lane, she lost control and was broadsided or t-boned by a southbound 2000 Toyota Rav4, he said.

"At the time of the crash, the roadway was icy due to blowing snow,'' he said.

Christine Underwood, 58, also of Yorkville, was driving the Rav4 and was hurt in the crash, he said.

Neither Underwood or Miller had any passengers and they both were wearing their seat belts, he said.

Both were taken to Rush-Copley Medical Center where Miller died and Underwood was in an unknown condition, Dorencz said. A spokeswoman for the Kane County Coroner's office confirmed the fatality, but could not provide further information.

It was unknown immediately whether speeding was a factor in the crash. "I can't confirm that -- it was the fact that she [Miller] was passing when conditions were very icy," Dorencz said.

No citations were issued.

Miller was a senior at Rosary High School in Aurora. The principal there told CBS 2 Miller was a gifted musician and part of the school's band, orchestra and choir. Miller had several scholarship offers for her musicianship, and was particularly proficient at the flute. She was an active member of her church and a Sunday school aide.
