A 19-year-old Dayton woman was killed in a one-vehicle accident on FM 2797 Sunday afternoon.

The Department of Public Safety received the call at 12:30 p.m.

Kara Ann Alston was headed west on FM 2797 just east of FM 1008 in a 1998 Plymouth Neon, according to the state agency. She was taking a left curve when she apparently left the roadway to the right side, lost control and skidded back across the road.

The vehicle then struck a culvert, rolled several times and stopped on its roof, according to DPS.

Alston was pronounced dead at the scene.
