Chad A. Painter, 27, Missoula, Mont., formerly of Reiffton, died Sept. 15, 2007, at 1:49 p.m. in Bonner, Mont.

Born in West Reading, he was a son of Mark L. Painter, Birdsboro, and Jean L. (Hermann) Painter, Avondale.

He was a member of Reformation Lutheran Church, Reiffton.

Chad was a 1998 graduate of Exeter High School and a journalism major at the University of Montana in Missoula.

At Exeter, he was an all-Berks baseball player for three years and played on the soccer team for three years.

In Montana, Chad played in a fast-pitch baseball league with the Clinton Clowns and in a golf league.

Chad loved writing poetry and was an accomplished artist. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hiking.

He was a fanatic for Penn State football, the Philadelphia Phillies and the Philadelphia Eagles.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother, Kyle E., Exeter Township; and a sister, Molly E., Baltimore.

Other survivors include his paternal grandparents, H. Paul and Betty M. Painter, Birdsboro.

Memorial services will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 5 Brooke Manor, Birdsboro. Inurnment will be private in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reiffton.
