An autopsy is set to determine the cause of death for a 19-year-old man who showed up at the hospital just hours after he was questioned and cited by Omaha police.

Police said Augustus Harris was stopped in the area of 18th and Miami Tuesday evening, just before midnight. Officers ticketed him for providing false information, obstructing an officer and possession of alcohol.

While at police headquarters for questioning, Police said Harris appeared to be in distress. A rescue squad came and examined Harris but he refused to be transported to the hospital.

Harris was taken to Creighton University Medical Center in critical condition at 6 a.m. Wednesday where he later died.

An autopsy will be conducted to determine his cause of death.
