A man arrested earlier this month in the shooting death of a Las Cruces man has been indicted on a charge of murder.
Moises Martin Menchaca, 23, was indicted last week in the Sept. 8 death of William Lucero, 36.
According to court documents, Lucero was shot after a dispute at a party at a Las Cruces home.
The documents say Menchaca became involved in a fight with another man and was knocked down. Two other men picked him up and the trio left. When they returned later, Menchaca allegedly fired several shots into the home, wounding three people.
Lucero, who was hit in the chest and neck, was airlifted to Thomason Hospital in El Paso, where he died a short time later.
Menchaca was jailed at the Doña Ana County Detention Center on $500,000 bond.
