It was an emotional day as a 21-year-old fire victim was buried. Dashelle Lynch and her roommate were trapped in a burning apartment building in Carey, Ohio last month. Rachelle Rice is still recovering at St. V's burn unit, but Dashelle died last Wednesday.

This has been such a bittersweet story, two women badly burned in a tragic fire, one friend recovers and the other dies. Family members are still trying to make sense out of this tragedy.

Fun loving, caring and vibrant, are just a few words that family members used to describe Dashelle Lynch. Growing up, the 21-year-old Lakota High School graduate was active in sports and karate. Today her family members expressed their loss.

Dashelle's uncle Tom Downer says, "It's been a tough time for the family, but through it all there has been a tremendous amount of support, we have grown closer."

Dashelle's grandfather says he prayed for a miracle and he believes his prayers were answered.

Jack Lynch Dashelle's grandfather says, "We don't wish Dashelle back. Some of us have been praying for a miracle and maybe we got one. We don't know what Dashelle might have went through."

But the family has been through a lot in the last 30 days. A few days after the apartment fire in Carey, the Lynch family experienced another loss, Dashelle's cousin Amber was badly burned in a head on crash. 3 weeks ago, Dashelle and Amber were just doors down from each other inside the burn unit at Saint V's; Amber is expected to recover.

So many people paid their final respects at the First Church of Nazarine in Fostoria this afternoon. They said goodbye to a loving daughter and a good friend whose life was taken too soon. Dashelle's father is asking that donations be sent to the burn unit at Saint Vincent Mercy Medical Center.

Rachelle Rice was also badly burnt on more than 60 percent of her body. Rachelle is still recovering at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center where she's in serious condition. Neither victim had health insurance, leaving behind huge medical bills. To help pay for the expenses a Findlay business is organizing a benefit concert for the two young women. Miss Cu" already hosted a long list of bands last Saturday and bands will play for part two of the benefit this Saturday! The cover charge is $10 and all proceeds go to the victims.
