Police are looking for witnesses and anyone who can retrace the last steps of a 25-year-old rapper who was gunned down outside his Scarborough home early yesterday morning.

Since the Michael George's shooting was announced by police, Facebook users have been flooding his profile with messages of grief and mourning.

The Post's Zosia Bielski reports:

Michael George was found inside his grey Chevy Malibu in his girlfriend's driveway on Wilcox Creek Pathway. He had been shot four times, once in the head and three times in the chest, Toronto Emergency Medical Services confirmed yesterday.

"It wasn't a drive-by. It looked like somebody was waiting for him to get out of his car, or somebody approached him as he was getting out of his car," said homicide Detective-Sergeant Steven Ryan.

Police received several calls reporting gun shots in the Morningside Heights area at 3:30 a.m. yesterday. One call came from Mr. George's girlfriend.

"She heard the firing of a gun. She was in bed sleeping and she went downstairs and saw his car in the driveway and him slumped over the driver's seat," Det.-Sgt. Ryan said.

The rapper's Facebook page has quickly filled with condolences. Meanwhile, police are trying to determine his whereabouts since Saturday.

"We're trying to retrace our victim's steps. We have no idea where he's been in the last 24 hours. Nobody seems to know," Det.-Sgt. Ryan said.
