A teenager was charged with intoxicated manslaughter in connection with an overnight deadly head-on collision.

The crash happened just after midnight on Saturday at South Collins Street and Debbie Lane. Police said a 17-year-old Brandon Lee Burchfield swerved his pickup truck into oncoming traffic. He hit a Ford Taurus head-on, killing its 38-year-old driver.

Her two children were in the hospital in good condition, police said.

A passenger in the Burchfield's car was also taken to the hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Burchfield was also charged with three counts of intoxicated assault.
