Mason Frye, 19, died after suffering a gunshot wound to his face. Authorities said he was hunting and hiking through pastures with two friends when the gun he was carrying - a .22-calibre pistol - accidentally discharged and shot him in the right cheek. He died at the scene.

Authorities have said there is no indication of foul play and the incident is being treated as an accidental death.

Principal Tommy Corcoran described the former student as a "great kid" who had many friends.

"Mason was real quiet, but would do anything for you," Corcoran said. "He was just one of those special kids."
