Two women died in unrelated traffic accidents in Butler County Saturday night.

Tegan Garcia, 18, died from injuries suffered in a two-car collision on Northwest Butler?Road. This accident happened around 6:30 p.m. Saturday.

Forty-seven-year-old Michelle Mendoza, was killed in a car-truck collision on Highway 77. This accident happened around 7 p.m. Saturday.

Weather conditions were cited as a factor in both fatal crashes. After a rainy day, Butler County received snowfall during the evening hours.

Both accidents were investigated by officers of the Butler County Sheriff's Office.

Sheriff Craig Murphy said Tegan Garcia was a passenger in a soutbound Dodge Neon operated by her father Todd Garcia.

Sheriff Murphy said the elder Garcia lost control of his car and was struck by a northbound in the 3500 block of NW Butler Road.

Kimberly Stanfield of Benton was reported as driver of the northbound Toyota SUV.

She and Mr. Garcia escaped serious injury,
Mendoza was driving a Dodge Neon which went out of control on the Walnut River bridge just south of Augusta.

She lost control of her car and crashed into a northbound Ford pickup truck operated by Brendan Decker of Douglass. Decker and his wife Mickey escaped serious injury.
