Reinhardt Elementary students experienced no distraction as Rockwall Police recovered a body from the area Monday morning, school officials noted.

The body was that of 18-year-old Rachel McKay, a recent Rockwall High School graduate.

"Nothing at this point from what we've been able to collect indicates any foul play," Rockwall police spokesman Carl Alsabrook said. They continue to gather information.

Reports from the Dallas County Medical Examiner's office where the body was sent Monday should be forthcoming in a week or two, he said.

The area is "heavily wooded" Alsabrook said. The body had been there possibly since as early as Sunday afternoon.

On Monday, a contract laborer saw what he thought might be a body, and notified the city engineer with whom he was working.

The engineer called the police at 9:27 a.m.

Police notified the school. Students were kept in indoor recess, in order to protect them from the comings and goings of the police at the location. It is not unusual to have indoor recess for a variety of reasons, said district communications director Sheri Fowler.
