Alaska State Troopers say they have recovered the body of a man who went missing yesterday while fishing with his father on Willow Creek in the Matanuska-Susitna Borough.

Troopers say the body of 38-year-old Robert Crockett Jr. of Anchorage was found underwater beneath a logjam today at 12:55 p.m.

Trooper spokeswoman Megan Peters says Crockett was fishing yesterday with his father, Robert Crockett Sr., at an access point off Willow-Fishhook Road.

The fishermen were not having much luck and the elder Crockett suggested his son try fishing near a downstream logjam left by flooding a year ago this month.

Peters says his body was discovered near another log pile.

She says Crockett may have fallen into the deep section while trying to cross Willow Creek.
