Daniel J. Merens, 25, died Tuesday, November 28, 2006 in Boulder, Colorado of unknown causes. Daniel was born in South Korea April 21, 1981. He was adopted at the age of 6, along with his sister, Sarah, by Dennis and Judy Merens. He graduated from H.H. Dow High School in 2000, and from Michigan State in 2005 with a B.A. in Marketing. After working for Starbucks during the last four years of college, Daniel recently moved to Boulder, CO and started in the management training program at Enterprise-Rent-A-Car.
Daniel was an avid snowboarder and golfer, but his greatest love was for his sister, his family, his special friend Katie Fischer, and all his Dow High and Starbucks buddies.
In addition to his parents in Midland, MI and his sister, Sarah Merens of Cleveland, Ohio, Daniel is survived by several aunts and uncles: Roger Merens (Janet), Sandee Merens Eiler (Tom), Janice Merens Mueller (Don) and four cousins from Green Bay, WI. Also surviving him are aunts Jayne Magnini of Little Rock, AR and Joetta Lavender of Tarpon Springs, FL and five cousins.


SERVICES
Funeral services will take place at 1 pm, Monday, December 4, 2006 at Midland Evangelical Free Church, 7221 Jefferson Avenue in Midland. Pastor Gib Giblin will officiate with burial in Midland Cemetery immediately following.

VISITATION
Daniel's family will receive friends at Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Chapel, 1200 West Wheeler St. on Sunday from 3-7 pm, and at the church on Monday from 12 noon until the time of the service.
