An 18-year-old died Sunday morning when he lost control of his car and swerved into a lake near Gateway Boulevard and Rousseau Place, the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office said.

Luciano Ramallo, of Lake Worth, drowned around 9 a.m., the Sheriff's Office said.

He may have been drinking alcohol, the agency said.

Ramallo was driving his 2000 Honda east on Gateway Boulevard when he went over the southeast corner curb at Rousseau Place, the Sheriff's Office said. His car went through trees and shrubs before veering into a lake. He became trapped and drowned.

There is no indication that another vehicle was involved in this crash, the Sheriff's Office said.
