Penn State grad was computer engineer

Paul R. Roth, 28, of Pittsburgh, died Monday, February 25, 2008, in UPMC-Shadyside hospital, Pittsburgh, following a brief illness.

He was born July 16, 1979, in Washington, a son of Neal E. and Janice M. Dornan Roth of McMurray.

Mr. Roth was a graduate of Peters Township High School and a 2002 graduate of Penn State. At the time of his death, he was enrolled in the MBA program at Carnegie Mellon University and a member of Carnegie Mellon Teppert School of Business Student Association.

He was employed by Carnegie Mellon University as a computer engineer.

Mr. Roth enjoyed hockey, electronics and reading. Mr. Roth was a Penn State and Steelers fan and also enjoyed Indy car racing.

He was a member of Chartiers Cross Roads Presbyterian Church.

Surviving, in addition to his parents, are a brother, Neal Roth of Canonsburg; an uncle, Robert Dornan of Washington; and several cousins.

Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 1, with the Rev. Barry Sweet officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Prospect Cemetery, Hickory.
