A Westland teenager has been charged with sodomizing, torturing and killing a cat.

Police said Todd Allan Treviso, 18, was staying at a friend''s house in the 2000 block of Stieber, near Wildwood and Palmer streets on April 4 when the alleged incident took place.

The cat, named Magic, was left to die on a neighbor''s front porch. The cat''s mouth was duct-taped shut, police said.

Police said Traviso has had "a troubled past."

If convicted, he could face penalties ranging up to 15 years in prison.
