A 15-year-old was killed and three other teens were hurt when a Ford Explorer crashed in Gilbert Wednesday night.

It happened shortly after 9 p.m., in the area of Ranch House Parkway and Germann Road, which is near Higley and Pecos roads.

Two of the four teens in the 2000 Explorer were thrown from the SUV.

Dillon Beaver of Gilbert died at the scene.

The other three boys were flown to Maricopa County Medical Center and Scottsdale-Osborn Hospital. Paramedics at the scene said two of those teens suffered life-threatening injuries.

Several of the teens involved in the wreck are believed to be students at Williams Field High School.

The Gilbert Police Department said it will provide counseling services for students who need it.

Investigators are trying to determine what caused the crash.

GILBERT - One person is dead and three others suffered head trauma in a car wreck.

It all took place around 9:30 Wednesday night. Police do not yet know what caused the collision on Ranch House Parkway, which is closed just north of Germain.
