A 25-year-old woman who chased and shot her boyfriend while holding her 2-month-old son will be charged with murder and weapons crimes, Easton police said today.

The victim, 29-year-old Harsun Cherry of Bethlehem, died Friday night at Easton Hospital. He was pronounced dead at 8:47 p.m., police said. Northampton County Coroner Zachary Lysek ruled Cherry died of a gunshot wound.

Police said Yolanda Cardona of the 100 block of North Eighth Street shot Cherry in the back Thursday night after chasing him outside her West Ward residence. She was arrested early Friday after a standoff with police and charged with attempted murder and related crimes.

Police said today they are adding a charge of murder. Police said they determined the gun Cardona used had been stolen.

Besides murder, additional charges include endangering the welfare of a child, receiving stolen property and carrying a firearm without a license.

Police said Cardona remains in Northampton County Prison and isn''t eligible for bail.
