Police said speed and unsafe operation were factors in a crash that killed a Chelsea man who lost control of his motorcycle while doing a wheelie at a high rate of speed on a highway in Leeds.
The Androscoggin Sheriff''s Office said the accident took place on Route 202 at about 3:45 p.m. on Saturday when Eric Demos, 22, lost control of his motorcycle, struck a guardrail and was thrown from the bike.
Demos was pronounced dead at the scene.
