A Wichita teen is killed in a crash and police believe it all began with a prank. The crash happened just after 5am Friday morning. Police say the jeep was speeding down a street near 34th and Woodlawn and was just going to fast for the curvy road. The driver, 16 year old Jaison Ayers, was pinned under the jeep and died. His mother found out about the crash three hours after it happened.
A 15 year old and 18 year old were also in the jeep. They were thrown out, but were not injured. Police believe the whole thing started when the three were at a local Quiktrip. Officers say it's possible Ayers tried to steal a box of soda from the front of the store, when he was caught, they took of. No matter how it happened, Ayers' family came to the the scene Friday afternoon to see for themselves where he lost his life. Police do not believe alcohol played a part in the crash, but are still waiting on toxicology reports.
