This morning the Kittitas County Sheriff''s Dive Team was still looking for a Tacoma man who was last seen swimming after his boat, which came loose in the high winds and drifted away in the Columbia River near Vantage about 9 p.m. Sunday night, according to a report from the Sheriff''s Office.

The man, Russell Fortman, 28, is believed to have drowned. Witnesses said they saw Fortman swim about 50 yards from the point, heard him yell for help and lost sight of him, according to the Sheriff''s Office report.

Surface searches were conducted Sunday night and again this morning. Divers were still looking for the man at press time today. The boat was recovered from the rocks along the jetty.
