A TEENAGER appeared in court today charged with manslaughter following the death of a youth who tried to break up a fight at a party at the weekend.

Heath Arthur Clake was charged after a fight at the party in Brighton, Adelaide, early yesterday.

Samuel Wayne Robert Davis, 17, suffered head injuries and died yesterday.

Mr Clake, 18, was originally charged with aggravated causing serious harm but police upgraded the charge to manslaughter.

He was also charged with breaching bail on a separate matter.

Mr Clake, of Hallett Cove, appeared briefly in court with his left hand in plaster.

His lawyer, Tracee Micallef, made no application for bail and Clake was remanded in custody to appear in court again next week.
