Oneida City Police are investigating a deadly accident that happened Friday night on Sayles Street in the city. The accident killed a 16-year-old and injured two other teens.

Police tell us 18-year-old Michael Krowicki II, of 236 West Street, was driving his Ford Taurus north on Sayles Street when the car went airborne, then bottomed out which caused Krowicki to lose control of the car. Police say he was speeding.

Krowicki''s car then went off the road and hit a tree, which badly damaged the car.

16-year-old Ryan Aldasch, who lived at 514 Broad Street, was riding in the passenger seat of Krowicki''s car. He was taken to University Hospital, where he died from his injuries.

A passenger in the back seat, 16-year-old Robert Eckhard of Prospect Street in Vernon, was taken to Oneida Health Care Center where he was treated for minor injuries. Krowicki was also taken there to be checked for injuries.

The New York State Police Accident Reconstruction Unit is helping the Oneida City Police with their accident investigation. Krowicki may face charges.
