A Tucson woman killed in a car crash on the East Side Thursday night has been identified as Sarah Lynn, 22.

Lynn was driving a 1999 Hyundai Accent west on East Escalante Road and was trying to make a left turn onto South Queen Palm Drive when her car was struck by a speeding eastbound Mercury Cougar, said Sgt. Mark Robinson, a Tucson Police Department spokesman.

Lynn was taken to University Medical Center, where she died of her injuries, Robinson said. Her passenger, a 20-year-old woman, was also taken to UMC with serious injuries.

Neither the 20-year-old driver of the Cougar nor his 17-year-old passenger were injured, Robinson said. Lynn was wearing a seat belt at the time, but her passenger was not, he said.

No citations have been issued in connection with the collision.
