Family and friends of Brandon Mitzel want the driver who struck and killed their loved one along Cedar Avenue to come forward.

"Whoever did this, just speak up, speak up," said John Mitzel, the victim''s father.

John Mitzel says his son Brandon was just beginning to turn his life around when a driver killed him along Cedar Avenue in the early morning hours Sunday.

"He finally realized where he was going wrong and he was trying. And for this to happen when he was a couple of minutes away from home," said Mitzel.

"He was a fun-loving guy. Always loved to be around him. The life of the party, dancing. Always made you feel happy," said the victim''s friend, Elizabeth DeMarino.

Mitzel''s friends say he was on his way home from a Christmas party around 1 a.m. when he was struck.

"That''s horrible. It''s like treating someone like he was an animal," said Kim Baran, the victim''s friend.

Police say an Amoroso''s truck driver was the one who discovered Mitzel''s body after actually rolling over it shortly after 5 a.m..

"We have the Amoroso truck impounded at this point," said Sgt. Anthony Desilva of the Bristol Township police department.

The driver of the bread truck was released. Police say he is not a suspect in the hit-and-run.

"It still hasn''t settled in. It''s still shocking. Once it settles in it''ll be like, Brandon''s gone," said Baran

Bristol Township police are asking anyone with information to call 215-785-4041.
