Authorities in Orange County are searching for the gunman who opened fire at a graduation party on Friday, killing a student.

It happened at the Amazon Restaurant and Lounge in Winter Garden.

Witnesses to the shooting talked to investigators to help them develop a composite sketch of the assailant. Police are taking the picture to local schools in hopes of identifying the gunman.

The victim was identified as Diamond Hill, 17, of Pine Hills. Investigators said Hill was involved in a fight with the gunman just before the shooting.

A bullet struck Hill in the head and friends rushed him to HealthCentral Hospital, where he later died.

After the initial gunfire, partygoers rushed outside the restaurant, and authorities said more shots were fired with a different caliber handgun. No other injuries were reported.

"We're not sure on the second (incident) where the gunfire came from. Is it the same group or was it retaliation? That we haven't cleared up yet," Winter Garden Police Department Sgt. Keith Ralston said.

The motive for the shooting is not known. Investigators said there had been an ongoing conflict between the victim and gunman.

"The victim and the shooter were engaged in a physical altercation with each other prior to the shooting," Ralston said.

Ralston said he does not know the name of the shooter or what the two men were fighting about.

Hill was a former student at Evans High School, attending the ninth grade center for two weeks. After that, he was signed up to go to an alternative school, but authorities said they don't believe he started there.

Detectives went to different schools in West Orange County with the composite sketch hoping to find a lead on the shooter's identity.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS.
