Keisha Marlene Quintero, 23, of Beeville, formerly of Skidmore, Texas, went to heaven on Wednesday, July 2, 2008.

She was born on March 5, 1985, in Gregory Portland, Texas, to Tony and Rose Marie Quintero. She graduated from A.C. Jones High School in 2003. She played soccer, volleyball, tennis, track and piano. She was a member of the Key Club, Junior Med Club volunteer, Upward Bound, National Honor Society, Year Book committee, art club, and photo journalism.

In her senior year she was elected most humorous and best personality. She was on the National Dean's List and was selected to attend the youth leadership conference in Washington DC.

She was a student at Texas State University in San Marcos where she earned a bachelors degree in Psychology and Anthropology. She received numerous awards with the UB Bowl Association and was a member of the Texas State University alumni. At the end of her junior year she attended classes for math and science at Lyon College in Batesville, Ark. and received an award for student of the week.

She performed counseling services for the women's shelter, Austin Police Department and San Marcos High School. She did a lot of volunteer work and loved to help people.

Keisha was a wonderful person who left our lives too young.
