Two Apopka teens killed in street-racing accident
Two Apopka teenagers were killed in what appears to be a street racing accident early Thursday, the Orlando Police Department reported.
Keisha Amanda Rajanie Ramah, 19, and Jettsy Marie Blanco, 18, were killed when Ramah's 1999 Subaru Legacy struck a tree on the 6300 block of Raleigh Street about 1:10 a.m., police said.
The impact caused the vehicle to split. Police said the front of the Subaru continued west and the rear half of the car remained against the tree. Ramah was found in the rear half of the vehicle, Blanco in the front half. Investigators have not determined whether the teens were wearing seat belts.
A witness told police it appeared Ramah was racing with a Toyota Camry, whose driver was identified as Subrian R. Drepaul, 19, of Orlando. Drepaul did not crash. The accident remains under investigation, police said.
