Family hopes teen will be remembered as good person

EDINBURG - A family is mourning the loss of their 18-year-old daughter, after she was killed in a rollover late Friday night.

Deidra Romero died after being thrown from a pickup truck.

Investigators say the Romero's 19-year-old boyfriend lost control, hit a fence, and rolled over on FM 490, just west of FM 493 near Hargill.

The 19-year-old man is said to be recovering from injuries at home.

Romero's family tell NEWSCHANNEL 5 some good may come from the tragic accident.

"She was an organ donor. We did donate her organs. She will live on in other people," they say.

Funeral arrangements for Diedra Romero are still pending.
