August 26, 2008--Funeral services have been set for two Ankeny High School teens who died after weekend swimming accident at Saylorville Lake. Seventeen-year-old Adrian Acosta and 16-year-old Marissa Paca were swimming with friends Sunday night near the Cherry Glen boat ramp at Saylorville Lake.

Witnesses say Acosta began to struggle in the water and when Paca tried to help him, he pulled her under the water. John Webb says he tried to rescue his two friends, "And I got him by one hand and he's completely under water and I'm trying to carry him -- then Marissa went limp, and then they were gone. But we kept getting stuck in the bottom so we got out and started screaming."

The teens were found about ten minutes after they went underwater. Ankeny High School had counselors from neighboring districts on hand today to help with mourning staff and students.

The wake for Marissa Paca is being held Thursday night at Our Lady of Immaculate Heart, and her funeral mass is at the same location at 10:30 Friday morning.

Visitation for Adrian Acosta is from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the Ankeny Funeral Home, with the funeral mass being held at 10:00 Saturday morning at St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Urbandale.

A vigil is being held for the teens at the Ankeny High School cafeteria tonight at 7:30.
