A motorcyclist was killed today when his vehicle collided with a truck on Perry Road, Deputy Coroner Gene Proctor said.
Proctor identified the victim as 39-year-old Jeffery Littlejohn of 412 Perry Road. He said the cause of death was massive trauma to the head and chest from the crash.
Floyd County police said the motorcycle struck a truck that was pulling out of a driveway on Perry Road near Winkle Road, in Armuchee around 4:45 p.m.
Police said Littlejohn sideswiped the GMC pickup truck and the driver of the truck probably never saw the cycle coming.
Littlejohn was pronounced dead at Redmond Regional Medical Center.
Police said no charges would likely be filed in the crash.
