Two people died and three others were hurt in a three-vehicle wreck late Thursday on the south side of Denton, police said.
The victims were Braden Spratlen, 18, and Frederick Knabe, 71, both of Argyle, according to the Tarrant County medical examiner's office, which handles fatalities for Denton County.
The three injured people were also residents of Argyle, said officer Jim Bryan, spokesman for the Denton Police Department.
The wreck was reported 11:52 p.m. in the 2700 block of U.S. 377, according to reports.
Spratlen was driving a Ford Mustang which was northbound in the southbound lanes of U.S. 377, also known as Fort Worth Drive.
"He was on the wrong side of the road," Bryan said.
The Mustang collided head-on with a southbound Mercury driven by Knabe, Bryan said.
"At that point the Mercury was spun in the wrong direction in the southbound lane and was struck by a Cadillac, that was southbound," Bryan said.
A 17-year-old boy who was a passenger in the Mustang was taken to Methodist Medical Center in Dallas, Bryan said.
The passenger in Knabe's car, a 69-year-old woman, and the driver of the Cadillac, a 24-year-old man, were taken to Denton-area hospitals, Bryan said.
Medical conditions of the injured people were unavailable Friday morning.
