A 22-year-old man died early this morning after losing control of his car and getting thrown from the vehicle as he drove along Route 280 in Roseland, State Police said.

James Wall of Parsippany was pronounced dead at 2 a.m., after his 2000 Dodge Intrepid jumped a curb, striking two light posts before flipping over several times, said State Police Sgt. Julian Castellanos. Wall wasn't wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, police said.

Driving in the westbound lane, Wall lost control of the vehicle, and ran off the side of the road, striking the posts then continuing through a grassy area. The car flipped several times before coming to rest in a wooded area, Castellanos said.

Wall was alone in the vehicle and no one else was involved in the incident. An autopsy was pending, police said.
