A Bois D'Arc woman died of injuries she suffered in a single-vehicle accident at 1:30 a.m. Wednesday in a field near the city limits of Duquesne, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Kathleen I. Gilmartin, 18, was taken to St. John's Regional Medical Center in Joplin, where she was pronounced dead at 4:20 a.m.

The accident happened near Duquesne Road and Seventh Street, the patrol said. Gilmartin was a passenger in a pickup truck driven by Keith J. Adams, 20, of Joplin, and was thrown out of the vehicle when Adams attempted a high-speed maneuver in the field and the truck overturned, the patrol said.

n An Exeter teenager was killed in a single-vehicle accident at 9:05 p.m. Tuesday on Route M, two miles north of Big M Marina in Barry County, the state patrol said.

Dylan M. Metscher, 16, was pronounced dead at the scene by Barry County Coroner Skip White. The body was taken to White's Funeral Home in Cassville, the patrol said.

Metscher was driving a car that skidded off the road, struck a rock bluff and overturned, throwing him from the vehicle, the patrol said.

n A motorcyclist and his passenger were injured when the motorcycle was struck from behind by a van at 1 p.m. Wednesday on Gateway Drive, four miles north of Neosho in Newton County, the state patrol said.

Steven R. Woodworth, 43, of Neosho, was taken to Freeman Hospital West in Joplin with minor injuries, and his passenger, Patty Coe, 37, also of Neosho, was taken there with serious injuries, the patrol said.

The northbound motorcycle was making a left turn when it was struck in the rear by a van driven by Monna R. Rice, 63, of Neosho, the patrol said.

n A Kansas man was injured in a single-vehicle accident at 1:50 a.m. Wednesday on U.S. Highway 54, three miles west of Nevada in Vernon County, the state patrol said.

Curtis D. McReynolds, 25, of Fort Scott, was taken to Nevada Regional Medical Center in Nevada, the state patrol said.

McReynolds was driving a westbound pickup truck that ran off the road and overturned, the patrol said.

n Two people were injured in a single-vehicle accident at 4 p.m. Tuesday on Reindeer Drive, eight miles southeast of Neosho, the state patrol said.

Brittany A. Bullington, 18, and Nicole M. Nyman, 18, both of Granby, were taken by private vehicle to Freeman Neosho Hospital, the patrol said.

They were passengers in a southbound vehicle driven by Houston H. Henderson, 17, of Neosho, that ran off the road and overturned, the patrol said.
