The driver and sole occupant of the 2003 Ford Mustang involved in the three vehicle crash shortly after 2:00 a.m. this morning has been identified as Amber Hurst, 22, of Greenfield, Indiana and her immediate family has been notified. The crash occurred on southbound I-465 near the 40 mile marker on the east side of Indianapolis and involved Hurst's Mustang and two semi-tractor trailers.

Preliminary investigation has determined Hurst was driving her silver 2003 Ford Mustang southbound in the left lane of I-465 near the 40 mile-marker lane when her vehicle struck the rear end of a green 2007 Peterbuilt tractor trailer being driven by Charles L. Dixon, 43, of Richwood, OH. After striking Dixon's semi Hurst's vehicle swerved right and struck a gray 2003 Freightliner tractor trailer being driven by Christopher D. Henderson, 33, of Indianapolis, IN.

After the second impact Hurst's vehicle rolled over and Hurst, who was not wearing her seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene by Deputy Coroner M. Willis of the Marion County Coroner's Office. Dixon and Henderson were wearing seatbelts and were not injured. All southbound lanes of I-465 were closed for approximately three hours while officers investigated the crash.
