Three people were killed when the car they were in collided with an Amtrak passenger train in Orange County just before 7:30 Friday night.

Martinez, and two passengers, 19 year old Christina Rosa and 27 year old John Penaloza were killed. The train's conductor told investigators he saw the railroad crossing arms go down and then saw the car drive under them.

Deputies also told Channel 9 the speedometer of the Buick was frozen at 55 miles per hour. The speed limit on Lancaster Road is 40 miles per hour.

The Amtrak train was traveling from Miami to New York and contained 167 passengers, many of whom were returning home from Thanksgiving.

No one on board the train was injured, and the train itself suffered minor damage.

The scene was cleared just after 9:30, and the train was able to continue on to its next stop in Winter Park.
