Police said a 34-year-old rural Clio woman died Monday night after a car struck her just after 6 p.m. as she walked in Tuscola County's Arbela Township.
Authorities pronounced Amy Wates dead at the scene of the crash not far from her home.
Police said Dorothy Perry, 74, of Vassar, drove the
vehicle that struck Wates on Bray Road south of Arbela Road.
Officers don't believe alcohol played a part in the incident, according to Lt. James F. Giroux of the Tuscola County Sheriff's Department.
