A 22-year-old Menifee man and a 28-year-old Upland man were killed in separate off-roading accidents Saturday, according to reports from the Riverside and San Bernardino county coroners' offices.

Troy Cleary, 22, of Menifee, fell from his motorcycle while attempting a large jump in the Shell Reef area of Ocotillo Wells State Vehicular Recreation Area in San Diego County at about 1:48 p.m., according to the Riverside County coroner's office. Cleary was taken to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, where he was pronounced dead about an hour later.

Victor V. Ortiz, 28, of Upland, lost control of an off-road quad vehicle on Soggy Dry Lake about three miles north of State Road 247 and west of Bessemer Mine Road in Lucerne Valley, according to the San Bernardino County coroner's office. Ortiz, who was not wearing a helmet, was ejected in the accident at about 6:50 p.m.. He was pronounced dead at about 8:30 p.m. at Saint Mary Medical Center in Apple Valley. The California Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
