Donna was born July 10, 1993, in Torrington, the daughter of Michael and Lorna (Staunton) Smith. In middle school, Donna was awarded "Blazer of the Month" and she loved to dance. She was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church, where she was an acolyte. Donna was an avid Barack Obama campaigner.

Donna was a unique gift to her family and those who knew and loved her. Her striking blue eyes could beam compassion, dance with wit, or shoot "stink eye" to anyone she deemed unkind. Beautiful inside and out, she never failed to capture attention with her captivating personality.

Learning was an adventure into the far reaches of her mind, which searched for truth and balanced thought. Donna was passionate in her love of people and animals, justice and peace; and she possessed spiritual depths that gazed with wonder into the great unseen. Donna is a treasure of great price, forever glowing in the hearts of the lives she touched. She will be forever missed.
