A 21-year-old Bolingbrook man killed in a car crash was drunk and speeding when his car crashed into several trees and flipped over in August, coroners from Will and DuPage counties testified Tuesday. Andrew J. Rafacz was driving a Nissan 350Z at 2:46 a.m. Aug. 25 when it hit the curb along 111th Street in Will County, hit several small trees, rolled over and landed back on the road, skidding to a stop on its roof, Will County Deputy Steven Kirsch said during an inquest in Wheaton.

Charles Dastych, chief deputy coroner for DuPage County, said Rafacz's blood alcohol content was .13, which is almost twice the legal limit in Illinois.

Rafacz was the sole occupant in the vehicle. He was transported to Edward Hospital in Naperville, where he died at 3:38 a.m. He was wearing his seat belt, coroners testified.

A coroner's jury ruled his death an accident from traumatic injuries to the head, chest and abdomen.

Kirsch, who helped with a reconstruction of the accident, said there were several beer cans at the scene of the crash.

He also said Rafacz was traveling at least 85 mph, 40 mph over the posted speed limit on 111th Street near Naperville-Plainfield Road.

Rafacz was a 2003 graduate of Neuqua Valley High School.
