The 16-year-old passenger in a car that was split in half Tuesday after it flew over a set of railroad tracks and hit a tree died Wednesday.

Wanda Parker of Brook Park was pronounced dead shortly after 3 p.m. Wednesday, according a spokeswoman for MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, where she was flown after the accident.

The girl's mother could not be reached for comment. But friends of the teen who heard about her death flocked to her MySpace site to post prayers and condolences.

"You are too young to be visiting heaven so soon," read one entry signed by three people.

The Cuyahoga County coroner's office will perform an autopsy.

Driver Bruce M. Boggins Jr., 27, and front-seat passenger Patrick A. Lee, 24, died instantly in the crash of multiple fractures and internal chest injuries, according to Lorain County Coroner Paul Matus.

Boggins was southbound on Middle Avenue in Carlisle Township when he crossed the elevated railroad tracks, lost control and slammed into the tree and telephone pole, according to a witness, Brandy Adler of Elyria, who was driving northbound at the time of the 12:50 p.m. crash.

The Ohio Highway Patrol said toxicology tests will be done to indicate whether substance abuse played a role in the crash. Rescuers said beer and what appeared to be crack cocaine and marijuana were found in the car.

The investigation is continuing, said Sgt. Charles Gullett of the Patrol.

Boggins had battled substance abuse and recently served a year in the Lorain Correctional Institution in Grafton, according to his father, Bruce M. Boggins Sr. of Cleveland.

On Wednesday, Matus said his office did not know very much about the men or why they were in Lorain County with the teenage girl in the car.

"The father (of Boggins) didn't even know where his son lived," Matus said.

No one in the vehicle was wearing seatbelts, troopers said.
