Belinda Magana wrote a cheery note on her MySpace site the same day authorities suspect she took part in the killing of her 2-year-old son.

"Happy mothers day weekend 2 all u mom's," read her Saturday afternoon status update. "Enjoy every moment with ur fam..."

The next evening, Corona police said she had concocted a story about Malachi Magana going missing from a local park. By that time, the boy had already been buried in a shallow grave in Lytle Creek.

Belinda Magana, 23, and her live-in boyfriend of five months, Naresh "Michael" Narine, 37, remained jailed Tuesday in lieu of $1 million bail. Prosecutors continued to review their cases, with arraignment possible this morning.

Investigators have released neither a motive nor the manner in which Malachi was killed. The San Bernardino County coroner is scheduled to conduct an autopsy today.

Narine, a DJ known as "Flipside," was arrested on suspicion of murder, torture and cruelty to a child causing death. He is not Malachi's biological father, police said.

Magana was arrested on suspicion of felony child abuse and being an accessory to murder. Her older son was placed in protective custody.

Malachi was reported missing from Lincoln Park in Corona at 6 p.m. Sunday. Police scoured the area by foot and with a helicopter, but turned up no clues.

When Magana and Narine were interviewed, detectives began to doubt their story, said Corona police Lt. Mark Johnson. The boy's body was found in the early morning hours Monday, five to ten miles off Interstate 15 in rugged terrain off of Lytle Creek Road.

Authorities said Monday that they believe Malachi was killed Saturday inside the apartment on Hearthside Drive where the boy's mother and Narine had lived for about a month.

Relatives of Magana and Narine could not be reached for comment Tuesday. The couple had been dating for five months, and on her MySpace profile, Magana repeatedly refers to Narine as her "hubby."

She boasted of getting a tattoo of his name, and gushed about his April 30 birthday party at a Long Beach nightclub. The 6-foot-3, 215-pound Narine advertises himself online as being a DJ connected to a Los Angeles-area hip-hop radio station.

On Tuesday, friends posted comments of support on Magana's MySpace profile.

"Give it all to the Lord," wrote a man who identified himself as Robert Calvary. "God is the only one you need to cry out to. He is the only one that can and will comfort you at this time."
