A 17-year-old Bloomington girl who collapsed while helping her mother move furniture last August died of a heart-related condition, according to a statement from the McLean County coroner's office.

Johnnecia House was helping her mother move on Aug. 14 from a duplex in the 300 block of South Allin Street when she collapsed.

Autopsy results released by Coroner Beth Kimmerling indicated the cause of death for House was coronary thrombosis, an obstruction of blood flow by a blood clot in a coronary artery.

An initial police investigation into the girl's death focused on the possibility that a drink she was given by a man who was visiting the duplex next door may have contained a substance that affected the girl.

The coroner's office concluded that "toxicology did not contribute to her death."

The coroner and Bloomington police have closed their investigation into the death, according to Kimmerling.
