Stroudsburg woman arrested in overdose death of her 13-year-old son

A Stroudsburg woman was arraigned this morning on charges in connection with the overdose death of her 13-year-old son.

Ginger Lee Boyle of Stroudsburg has been charged with involuntary manslaughter and endangering the welfare of children, state police at Swiftwater said.

Boyle's son was taken to Pocono Medical Center on April 1 after she contacted 911 to report that he was unresponsive. Boyle's son was pronounced dead upon arrival to Pocono Medical Center.

The results of an autopsy revealed that the cause of death was mixed drug toxicity. Police said Boyle admitted to knowing that her son took at least two of her prescription Methadone pills and that he was in possession of several more pills of her prescription medication.

Despite knowing this, Boyle did not seek medical attention for her son, police said.

Boyle was arraigned before District Judge Germano today and released on $100,000 unsecured bail.
