A 21-year-old Philadelphia man died in a single-car car accident in Lower Southampton on Friday morning, police said.

Robert Marandola, of Proctor Road in Philadelphia, was pronounced dead around 3 a.m. at the scene of the accident on Bustleton Pike near County Line Road, police said. A preliminary investigation found that the car was traveling at a high rate of speed, left the roadway and vaulted and rolled and caught fire, police said.

Marandola had an additional address, where his parents lived, on Gravel Hill Road in Upper Southampton, police said.

The accident remains under investigation.
