Someone showing off a gun accidentally shot and killed a man at a house party Friday night in Oak Grove, police said.

The victim, 23-year-old Oak Grove resident Brady Lowery, was taken to a hospital, where he died, according to a statement released today by Oak Grove police.

Officers were called about 10:45 p.m. to a small gathering at a house in the 1300 block of SE Austin Street.

Witnesses told police that another person at the party was displaying a semi-automatic handgun and accidentally shot Lowery in the head.

Police said alcohol may have been a factor.

This morning, the incident remained under investigation. Police said the shooter had been interviewed but that no charges had been filed.
